Course Description: Understanding the medical and mental health needs of adolescents can be difficult. Trying to positively influence behavior and functioning in the classroom and in the family environment often will include a psychiatric assessment and medication. Dr. Rabin will be providing an overview of the clinical indications and significant side effects of antidepressants, anti-psychotic medications, stimulants, anti-anxiety medication and mood stabilizers. About the Trainer: Barry Rabin, MD is the Medical Director of Linden Oaks Hospital at Edward. He was previously the Medical Director of Psychiatry at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. He attended the University of Illinois Medical School and did his psychiatric training at Loyola University. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry.
