Teaching Parents How to Protect Their Teens Online

Course Description: Adolescents often know more about the use of internet technology than their parents. While this in and of itself is not bad, there are many dangers present in the use of this type of technology. Detective Rich Wistocki has been a part of Naperville Police Department’s Internet Crimes Unit for over 10 years and has presented to hundreds of parents on this topic. By attending this presentation, Detective Wistocki will review the important tools that parents need to monitor their teens online. He will be looking at:

ABOUT THE TRAINER: Detective Richard Wistocki had been with the Naperville Police Department for seventeen years. He spent his first five years in the patrol division and the remaining years in the Youth Investigation Division and Internet Crimes Unit. In his last ten years as an Internet Crimes Investigator with the Naperville Police Department, he has forged numerous partnerships with the community and other Law Enforcement Agencies. He is one of the founding members of the Illinois Attorney Generals High Tech Crimes Bureau. He has taught members of the Illinois Attorney General’s High Tech Crimes bureau the ins and outs of My Space in criminal investigations. He is a member of the United States Secret Service Computer Crimes Task Force. He is an instructor in computer crimes investigations for the Illinois Suburban Law Enforcement Academy. Rich’s passion is concentrated in teaching parents how to parent their children while online.
