Asking for help is a courageous thing to do. It is hard and rewarding work to look at yourself and be willing to make changes. I consider it an honor and privilege to walk with you through this part of your journey. I believe counseling should be an open experience, with trust and collaboration as critical elements. I focus on nurturing a strong, therapeutic relationship that creates an environment where you can feel safe sharing your personal stories. My approach is non-judgmental, accepting, and warm.
I have over twenty years in the counseling field and work with adolescents and adults struggling with mood disorders, grief, and loss, behavioral struggles, trauma, difficult life transitions, women’s issues., disordered eating, and low self-esteem, among others. I offer Christian counseling for those who prefer a faith-based approach.
I use an integrated approach to therapy implementing such techniques as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care.
